Meet The Visionary

Maya Emelle, the visionary behind Flavors of Origin, has embarked on an incredible journey from the world of film production to becoming a dedicated advocate in the fight against food insecurity within underserved communities. With a passion for storytelling and a deep-rooted commitment to social change, Maya recognized the power of food as a vehicle for transformation.

Driven by her belief in the fundamental right to nutritious food for all, Maya channeled her creative energy and expertise into creating Flavors of Origin. As the event’s founder and executive producer, Maya’s vision is to not only satisfy taste buds but also to nourish minds and souls, empowering underserved youth in Los Angeles through food literacy education.

What are the age restrictions?

Flavors of Origin Food Festival is open to attendees of all ages, this is a family event. Please note no dogs are allowed on the premise of the festival.

What are General Admission tickets?

Flavors of Origin is a free community event, rsvping with a GA ticket ensures you receive a custom grocery card guide, recipe cards from featured dishes and more goodies from our sponsors to support your nutritional journey.

Where is the event and where do I park?

Flavors of Origin Food Festival will be at the Mar Vista Farmers Market on 6/2/2024. There’s ample free street parking within the local neighborhood.

What else should attendees bring?

An APPETITE, comfortable shoes, and a light jacket for the magical wonders of early morning June gloom.
